At Summit Martial Arts, all instruction is provided in a group class setting. To ensure a safe, positive and productive experience for every student, we assess whether each child is ready to participate successfully in our classes.
Every prospective student attends a complimentary trial class. This gives us the opportunity to meet your child, answer your questions, and determine whether they are ready to benefit from our program.
If we determine that a student is not yet ready for our group classes, we will recommend returning at a later time. Depending on our assessment, this may be the next session or several months later.
This is especially common with younger children who have not yet reached Kindergarten age, and it should not be viewed as a setback. Children develop at different rates, and readiness for a structured group environment varies from one child to another.
Our goal is for every student to enjoy martial arts from the very beginning. In our combined 45+ years of coaching experience, we have found that encouraging a child to participate before they are developmentally ready often creates frustration, anxiety, and a negative first experience. We would much rather welcome a student when they are confident, comfortable, and set up for success.
We are committed to helping every child succeed and will always work with families to discuss the best path forward. If you have any questions or concerns, we welcome respectful conversations by email or in person. We're happy to help.

All students are enrolled under either a month-to-month or annual membership agreement. Before participating in classes, a parent or guardian must review and sign the membership agreement, which clearly outlines all terms and conditions, including our cancellation policy.
At Summit Martial Arts, we believe in being transparent. Our policies are explained upfront, discussed before enrollment, and signed by a parent or guardian—there are no surprises.
Tuition reserves your child's place in their scheduled class and is not based on attendance. For this reason, missed classes, including those due to illness, vacations, or personal scheduling conflicts, are not eligible for refunds or make-up classes.
Membership cancellations are governed by the terms of your signed membership agreement. Cancellation policies are reviewed with every family before enrollment and acknowledged by a parent or guardian as part of the registration process.
Registration fees for seminars, workshops, camps, tournaments, and other special events are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by Summit Martial Arts.
Private lessons cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice may be rescheduled. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, will be forfeited and are not eligible for a refund or credit.

Since 2014, families have walked through our doors as strangers and become part of something much bigger.
A place where belts are earned, traditions matter, and students are challenged to discover what they are truly capable of.
A place where friendships are forged, victories are celebrated, and every journey matters.
If that sounds like the kind of place you're looking for, we'd love to meet you.
